BIOGRAPHY OF LATE ENGR. JOSEPH MBAMAGU ALOH

Late Engr. Dr. Joseph Mbamagu Aloh was born on 20th October 1979 in Ndeguazu Ohankwu Ndufu-Alike Ikwo of Ebonyi State into the family of Chief Abraham and Mrs. Regina Aloh Ngwuta. He attended Umunneator Central School Nwakpu Alike Ikwo where he obtained a distinction in FLSC in 1992. After his Primary education, he was admitted into Ikwo High School Agubia Ikwo where he sat for JSSC Examination and left to the Folk Technical College Onu-Nwakpu Alike Ikwo. Due to financial status of his family at that time, he left to live with elder brother Sir Johnson Aloh in Onitsha, Anambra State and enrolled into Comprehensive Secondary School Onitsha where he sat for WAEC in 2001 and obtained distinction and credits in all the subjects he sat for.

Late Engr. Joseph Mbamagu Aloh studied Electrical/Electronics and Computer Engineering at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka where he obtained B.Eng in power System and Machines at Second Class upper division in 2008. He went to the University of Nigeria Nsukka and obtained M.Eng (Distinction) in power System in 2015. Finally, he had a PhD in power System in the prestigious institution in May, 2019 before the sickness struck. He was a member of the following professional bodies:

  1. Nigeria Society of Engineering (NSE)
  2. Nigeria Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (NIEE)
  3. Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)
He was until his death the chairman of Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) Awka Forum, Anambra State. Engr. Dr. Joseph Aloh worked with Nigeria Integrated Power Project (NIPP) as a site manager in 33/11 KV substation in the South Easter State of Nigeria. Late Engr. Dr. Joseph until death was a lecturer in the Department of Electrical/Electronics, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, Ebonyi State.

Late Engr. Dr. Joseph Aloh published extensively in reputable Journals and presented papers in both National and International Conferences. He was until death the President General of Ndufu-Aike Community, Chairman Alike Ikwo Development Union Onitsha Branch.

He was given several Awards, few among them are Mayor of the Ultimate Friends Clubs of Nigeria, Onitsha Headquarters, Silver Jubilee Awards by our Saviour’s Anglican Church Ugwuagba Obosi, Diocese on the Niger, Award of Excellence by Overcomers Anglican Church Nkpikpa, Ogbaru Diocese, Award of Excellence by the National Association of Ikwo Students (NAIS), Merit Award of Excellent leadership by Alike Ikwo Development Union Onitsha Branch and finally he was given the chieftaincy title of Dike of Alike Kingdom on 30th December, 2018.

He was a Philanthropist, leader and a believer who puts God’s work first in everything he did. He was the CEO of Trinity Foundation and Jimica Investments Global Ltd.

Late Engr. Dr. Joseph Mbamagu Aloh was married to Mrs. Celestina I. Aloh (Omara Obi di ya) and the marriage is blessed with five children.
