CALL UGOCHUKWU

CALL UGOCHUKWU

Exactly at this hour 8.46am on Monday 17 February 2020, exactly a week today, the news of the passing away of my precious Cousin Ugochukwu Adimora reached me, silencing me. Words are paying their homage by bowing to silence, by keeping silent in honour of him whose voice rises to be heard when being heard makes a difference

Precious Cousin Ugochukwu, "nwanne w? ihe etinyehe nnu ma ya anat? ?t?". You told me how much you LOVED that saying. You told me that we, the Adimoras, must keep maintaining and expanding the very special LOVE that was the bond our fathers shared and handed down to us, an extraordinary heritage, precious and awesome.

Precious Cousin, you played your part to the utmost to keep that family LOVE and unity blooming and flourishing, healing and building, lifting, honouring and beautifying. You were that to which no salt is added but made family relationship delicious. Yes, you, my precious Cousin Mr U, made our Adimora family relationship delicious!

Your willingness to help whenever called up is the legacy of you being the male Adimora of our generation who was resident in Uga. A responsibility you honourably carried with great joy and happiness. You were the home branch that will drive our family to the hospital at the dead of night. You were the home root that will be called upon and will check upon, that will visit and provide companionship. "Call Ugochukwu" and you will be called and will answer. Your charisma, smile, your voice. your LOVE, your presence, your stylishness, your cherished dance moves, have remained with me since the news of 17 February 2020, keeping me company and in silence I continue to pay homage until words visit to be written and spoken. Those who planted LOVE live on in the LOVE planted. Your face is before me as I write and as the LOVE you planted glows and lives on in me.

Precious Cousin Mr U, I am consoled that you knew your faith and that you were deep in faith. I am consoled that your faith knew that what we call death is only a door to a better place. I am consoled that you knew for sure that through the door of death, you will arrive the promised land. I am consoled that your prayers were answered for you have prayed that if this was to be your time, may excruciating pain not be prolonged. Tears will fall no doubt and continue to fall, but they fall to become the rain, watering the seeds of the LOVE you planted. We draw strength from the strength of our precious children Nnamdi, Adaugo, Chinyere and darling wife Ngo who remain strong in faith in honour of the faith you kept.

LOVE TO YOU ALWAYS precious cousin

LOVE TO ALL ALWAYS
